Today I arrived
In New York City
For the very first time
Age 29
6:45 theirs
3:45 mine

Rolling along
In the morning throng
Looking out the window
For the big skyline

I made a deal with myself a long time ago, I said
"I'm never going to go to New York City."
So I can say on my dying day
to the people around my bed
"There's one thing in my whole life I never did."
And then they can say
"What's that, kid?"
And then I can say
"I never did get to New York City."

So I blew the last thing
I ever wanted to say
By arriving today
In New York City
